Siemens Donates and Offers Other Aid to Assist in Tsunami Relief.  Efforts Worth Over One Million Dollars.

Siemens is mounting an extensive effort to aid the victims of the catastrophic tsunamis in Asia.  The company is using local presence in the affected countries to quickly deliver targeted aid by providing technical support to help restore vital infrastructure such as electricity, telecommunications & water supplies, and supplying medical equipment like x-ray and ultrasound systems

In addition Siemens has launched employee donation drives throughout the world.  The company will equally match each employee donation to aid victims throughout the region and has already raised over a million dollars in the USA.

LR 200 Radar Best Choice to Monitor Waste Fuel Storage

Ash Grove Cement is the fourth largest cement manufacturer in the USA.  The Foreman, Arkansas plant has six 30-foot tanks on-site for storing waste fuels.  Continuous level measurement is essential to avoid overfilling and costly cleanup.  Operators also need to monitor and adjust fuel-blending ratio and track inventory.  Ash Grove conducted a trial with four technologies from various suppliers and the SITRANS LR 200 radar performed the best in this application.    full story

Siemens has launched its new ultrasonic transducer for sanitary applications


Echomax XCT-8 with a 4" sanitary flange and PTFE facing works with Siemens Milltronics controllers to measure liquids up to 8 m (26ft) and from -40 to 125 C (-40 to 260 F).  With 3A and CSA approvals, this transducer is ideal for use in food applications where clean-in-place and high temperatures are the norm.
