Process Automation on the Orange Sky
With over 30 million trees, Cutrale is the world's largest producer of Citrus fruits.  To meet the demand for more "genuine" freshly pressed orange juice, Cutrale has decided to transport liquid orange juice on appropriately converted ships and to store it at suitable tank farms.

To turn the freighter now renamed "Orange Sky" into a tanker, a complete overhaul of the electrical installations was necessary.  The contract for the process automation was awarded to the Process Solutions Division of Siemens Energy & Automation, USA.

Coriolis Flowmeters SITRANS F C (MASSFLO®)

SITRANS F C flowmeters are used to measure liquids and gases.  In addition to mass flow, the Coriolis mass flowmeter, provides information on media density, fraction and temperature.

Mass flowmeters provide the most accurate flow measurement today with highest accuracy and repeatability 0.10% of mass, and range-ability from 100:1.

Among others, the main advantages are:
  • Safe, reliable, low pressure drop
  • No routine maintenance, user friendly
  • Single tube design; two welding points only
  • CIP compatible, self-draining
  • Corrosion resistant material
  • Measuring principle: Coriolis
  • Measurement of: mass flow rate
  • MASSFLO® measure: Density, volume flow rate, percent fraction flow, temperature.
